Why are our Persians "royal"? 

First of all, back in the 1800s when Queen Victoria of England acquired two Blue Persians and fostered the breeding and showing of the breed, Persians became very popular with the nobility. That was the beginning of the cat fancy, with the first showing being held in 1871 at the Crystal Palace and the winning medals being presented by King Edward VII. I can trace the bloodlines of my own cats back to that period, and over 100 years later the breed's popularity has never dwindled. Aside from that, because of their regal beauty and wonderful laid-back disposition, they have long been considered cat "royalty". At Lapeyrouse Royal Persians, our cats are treated like the royalty they know they are. They are lovingly raised under foot, allowed to romp and play and get lots of snuggles - because, after all, royalty has its privileges! They have the very best care and are very well-socialized. So while we don't wear tiaras or crowns around here, be assured that every kitten that leaves us for its forever home has been treated like a little prince or princess!
