Lapeyrouse's Cattery is a relatively new in-home, cageless cattery founded 2006 in San Antonio TX.  The foundation breeders were all Southern bred in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

A purebred Persian or Himalayan kitten has desirable characteristics that have been stabilized by selective breeding for generations. At Lapeyrouse's Cattery we're very proud of the pedigree bloodlines of our cats and their kittens.

Persians are known for their quiet voice and gentle nature. Bred to the Siamese over 20 years ago to develop today's Himalayan, the Himalayan has the qualities of the Persian combined with the intelligence and playfulness of the Siamese, as well as a coat that is less prone to matting.

There is a myth that male cats don't make as good a pet as the female. Actually, many people find the males more affectionate. Not all males spray - ever. Neutering around 6 months of age usually eliminates this possibility before it becomes a problem.

Your female should be spayed before she is 8 months old.

These cats are strictly indoor cats. They should never be allowed to roam outside.

I have owned the parents of our kittens since they were kittens themselves. They have been raised as pets, had all their shots and tested clear of HIV, Feline Leukemia and PKD. Your kitten is used to human activity and given a few days to adjust in his or her new home will become a loving member of your household.

All our kittens are fed Purina One Kitten Chow.   Your kitten should continue to eat kitten food until it is a full year old.

You can find just about anything you'd like to know about the breed or care for your chosen kitten on the Internet. You may also want to buy a care book from your local bookstore if this is a first-time kitten for you.

Your kitten is guaranteed to be in good health. If you take your kitten to your vet for a checkup within the first week that you have it and the vet finds any health issue that is a concern, please return the kitten for a refund or another kitten, if available. We can't, however, be responsible for anything the kitten may be exposed to or experience that might make it sick after that initial vet visit.

With proper care and love, your new kitten can be expected to live up to 20 years.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
